The Perfect Zero-Sugar Mocktail Recipe (That Actually Tastes Good)
The biggest complaint about the mocktail industry is the sugar. If you order a mocktail at a restaurant, you are almost guaranteed to receive a glass full of fruit juice, simple syrup, and soda. It might look pretty, but it’s essentially a dessert in a glass.
If you are looking for a sophisticated, complex drink without the sugar crash, you need to rethink how you build your beverages.
The Secret to Zero-Sugar Mocktails: Botanical Infusions
Flavor doesn't have to come from sugar. It can come from the deep, earthy, and bright notes of real botanicals.
At Art of Staying Wild, we approach mocktails differently. Our dry botanical blends are formulated by an herbalist to deliver maximum flavor without a single gram of added sugar.
Here is our favorite way to make a completely zero-sugar, zero-calorie mocktail at home using our "Infuse & Chill" method.
The Infuse & Chill Botanical Mocktail
Ingredients:
• 1 jar of The Pause Bar botanical blend (we recommend our citrus or herbal profiles)
• Hot water
• Ice
• Sparkling water (unflavored)
• Fresh garnish (rosemary sprig, lemon wheel, or cucumber ribbon)
Instructions:
1.Brew the Base: Place one of our botanical infusion bags into a mug or heat-safe pitcher. Pour hot water over the bag, just as you would with tea.
2.Infuse: Let it steep for 5–7 minutes to extract the full depth of the herbs and spices.
3.Chill: Remove the bag and let the liquid cool in the fridge. (Pro tip: Make a large batch on Sunday to have your base ready all week!)
4.Build the Drink: Fill a beautiful cocktail glass with ice. Pour in your chilled botanical base until the glass is 3/4 full.
5.Top and Garnish: Top with a splash of sparkling water for effervescence, and add your fresh garnish.
The result is a crisp, complex, and deeply satisfying drink that supports your wellness goals rather than sabotaging them.
