A few years ago, I found myself at a crossroads. After more than 20 years in the corporate world, I knew something needed to change. I was exhausted, burned out, and navigating the unexpected shifts that come with perimenopause. Somewhere along the way, joy had quietly slipped out of my daily life.
So I went looking for it.
Herbalism and gardening had long been part of my world — growing, blending, and working with plants in my kitchen and garden. As I began exploring what was next, I kept asking myself a simple question: What if the things I loved most could become the work I did every day?
At the same time, I was searching for better non-alcoholic drink options. Many pre-made drinks were packed with sugar or artificial sweeteners, and most infusion kits were designed for alcohol. I wanted something different — something clean, botanical, and adult. Something that could be enjoyed alcohol-free or paired with spirits, depending on the moment.
So I started experimenting.
Dried botanicals, citrus peel, hibiscus flowers, lemongrass, spices, and mineral salts filled my kitchen. I infused, tasted, adjusted, and infused again. When I finally shared the first blends with friends, their reaction was immediate: these drinks felt sophisticated, complex, and completely different from what they had tried before.
That was the beginning of The Pause Bar.
