Your kit makes a full 32 oz. base (5 generous servings). Choose your path:
PATH 1 — Fruit-Forward Old-Fashioned
INFUSE: Add 32 oz. cloudy apple juice (cloudy is best — it gives the base body and a natural sweetness that complements the spice) or pear juice to the jar
CHILL: Refrigerate 20–30 minutes
FINISH: Remove infusion bag — your Spiced Old-Fashioned mocktail base is ready
SERVE: Pour 4–6 oz. over a large ice cube. Garnish with an orange twist and a cinnamon stick.
PATH 2 — Zero-Sugar Botanical Nightcap (Recommended)
INFUSE: Place infusion bag in 32 oz. hot water for 7–8 minutes (cinnamon, coriander, and bitter orange extract beautifully in heat — don't over-infuse)
FINISH: Remove bag
ADD: ½ oz. maple syrup or honey, plus a small dash of apple cider vinegar to brighten and balance
CHILL: Refrigerate until cold
SERVE: Pour 4–6 oz. over a large ice cube. Garnish with an orange twist and a cinnamon stick.
The hot water path is where this blend becomes something exceptional — adult, complex, and warming in a way that no juice-based drink can replicate. The apple cider vinegar is the secret: it mimics the dry, slightly acidic finish of a classic old-fashioned without adding sugar or alcohol.

Organic Sweet Orange Peel, Organic Bitter Orange Peel, Organic Cinnamon, Organic Coriander Seed, Organic Allspice Berry.
Why These Ingredients?
Sweet Orange Peel - The aromatic foundation. Sweet orange peel delivers the warm, citrusy sweetness that anchors the old-fashioned character of this blend — the same note you get from the orange twist garnish in a classic cocktail, built directly into the infusion. Its naturally uplifting aromatic compounds support mood and ease digestive discomfort, and it provides the rounded sweetness that balances the bitterness of the other peels and spices.
Bitter Orange Peel - The complexity and the finish. Bitter orange peel adds a sharp, resinous depth that gives this blend its genuinely adult character — the dry, slightly bitter finish that lingers pleasantly and makes you want another sip. It is a foundational botanical in European digestive bitters and amari, with a long history of use as a digestive tonic that stimulates bile production and supports liver function. Without it, this would be a spiced apple drink. With it, it is an old-fashioned.
Cinnamon chips - The warmth that defines this blend. Cinnamon is the first thing you smell and the last thing you taste — it wraps the entire blend in a warm, familiar comfort that makes the Spiced Old-Fashioned feel like a fireside drink. Beyond its unmistakable flavor, cinnamon is one of the most studied spices in the world for its potential to support healthy blood sugar levels, reduce inflammation, and provide antioxidant protection. It extracts beautifully in hot water, which is why the hot infusion path is where this blend truly shines.
Coriander Seed - The unexpected sophistication. Coriander seed is what separates a thoughtfully formulated botanical blend from a simple spiced cider. It adds a warm, citrusy, slightly floral complexity — a note that is familiar but hard to identify, the kind that makes people ask "what is in this?" In Ayurvedic and traditional herbal medicine, coriander seed is used to support digestion, ease bloating, and cool inflammation. Its essential oil, linalool, is a powerful antioxidant that also contributes to its pleasant, aromatic quality.
Allspice Berry - The depth and the spice backbone. Allspice is named for its ability to evoke the flavors of clove, cinnamon, and nutmeg simultaneously — and in this blend, it does exactly that, adding a warm, peppery depth that ties all the other spices together and gives the blend its velvet finish. Rich in eugenol, the same compound found in cloves, allspice has documented anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties and has been used in traditional Jamaican and Caribbean herbal medicine as a digestive aid and warming tonic for centuries.
